In January, Build Smart's president, Michelle Ramaker participated in two Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) business panels to review the instructional framework for trades curricula. Instructor Charlie Smith joined Michelle to review the curriculum for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC) and instructor Curtis West joined her for carpentry.

Workplace experts provide guidance to the VDOE in the development of career and technical education programs that prepare students for postsecondary education and the workforce. Build Smart is proud to play this critical role in trades education.
